شوری یکی از مهم‌ترین تنش‌های غیرزنده محیطی و محدود‌کننده رشد و تولید گیاهان می‌باشد. از طرفی، سیلیسیوم (Si) دومین عنصر فراوان در خاک است و موجب کاهش تنش‌های زیستی و غیرزیستی در گیاهان می‌گردد. بدین منظور، در این تحقیق، اثر سیلیکون و نانوسیلیکون (50 و 100 میلی‌گرم در ‌لیتر) بر برخی ویژگی‌های مورفوفیزیولوژیک و فیتوشیمیایی گیاه نعناع فلفلی (Mentha piperita L.) تحت تنش شوری در سطوح مختلف کلرید‌سدیم (صفر، 50 و 100 میلی‌گرم در ‌لیتر) در گلخانه به‌صورت فاکتوریل در قالب طرح آماری کاملا تصادفی در سه تکرار در سال 1398بررسی شد. نتایج نشان داد که تنش شوری به‌طور معنی‌داری موجب کاهش وزن تر و خشک اندام هوایی و ریشه و محتوای کلروفیل، فنل‌کل و پروتئین شد. فعالیت آنزیم‌های سوپراکسید دیسموتاز و پراکسیداز و درصد اسانس در سطوح مختلف شوری متفاوت بود. میزان پرولین نیز در اثر تیمار کلرید‌سدیم 100 میلی‌گرم در ‌لیتر به‌طور معنی‌داری افزایش یافت. تیمار گیاهان با سطوح مختلف سیلیکون و نانوسیلیکون موجب کاهش اثرات منفی تنش شوری در شاخص‌های مورد ارزیابی گردید. تیمار نانوسیلیکون100 میلی‌گرم در ‌لیتر بیشترین مهار اثرات تنش شوری بر شاخص‌های رشد، فعالیت آنزیم‌های آنتی‌اکسیدان و درصد اسانس را نشان داد. لذا با توجه به نتایج حاصل از پژوهش حاضر می‌توان محلول‌پاشی سیلیکون و نانوسیلیکون را جهت کاهش اثرات منفی تنش شوری در گیاه نعناع فلفلی توصیه نمود.
