به‌منظور بررسی اثر تنش خشکی بر ترکیب‌های پلی‌فنولیک آب میوه انار (Punica granatum L.) (محتوی فنل تام، فلاونوئید تام و سیانیدین-3-گلوکوزاید) و همچنین عملکرد میوه، آزمایشی به‌صورت اسپلیت پلات در قالب طرح بلوک کامل تصادفی با سه تکرار (سطوح آبیاری در پلات اصلی و ژنوتیپ‌های انار در پلات فرعی) اجرا شد. براساس نتایج بدست‌آمده، تنش خشکی منجر به افزایش محتوی ترکیب‌های پلی‌فنولیک آب میوه (P<0.05) و کاهش عملکرد میوه (P<0.05) در مقایسه با شرایط عدم تنش (FC 5±75%) گردید. باوجوداین اعمال تنش ملایم (FC 5±55%) در مقایسه با تنش شدید (FC 5±35%) منجر به اُفت کمتر در عملکرد میوه شد (P<0.05). همچنین نتایج نشان داد که ارقام مورد بررسی می‌توانند به‌عنوان منبع غنی از ترکیب‌های فنولی مورد توجه قرار گیرند؛ باوجوداین بیشترین تفاوت ارقام در سطوح مختلف آبیاری در محتوی سیانیدین-3-گلوکوزاید بود. از سوی دیگر براساس تجزیه به مؤلفه‌های اصلی، در شرایط عدم تنش و تنش ملایم، ژنوتیپ‌های Agha Mohamad Ali (AMA)، Pust Sefid Torsh (PST)، Malas Torshe Saveh (MTS) و Malas Shirine Saveh (MSS) را می‌توان به‌دلیل عملکرد بالای میوه و ترکیب‌های پلی‌فنولیک به‌عنوان ژنوتیپ‌های برتر و غنی از مواد آنتی‌اکسیدانی طبیعی در صنایع غذایی و دارویی پیشنهاد نمود. در مجموع، به‌دلیل اهمیت قابلیت عملکرد تحت تنش خشکی، تیمار تنش خشکی ملایم (FC 5±55%) را می‌توان به‌عنوان سطح متعادلی از تنش به‌منظور دستیابی به سطح قابل قبولی از متابولیت‌های ثانویه به‌ویژه سیانیدین-3-گلوکوزاید و عملکرد میوه در منطقه ساوه معرفی کرد.
