Abstract

Salvia hypoleuce is one of the native spices which belongs to the Labiatae family.
The aerial parts of this fragrant plants were gathered from Tehran province (Fasham region) at its full flowering stage in the late spring.
The essential oil was extracted by steam distillation method and analysed by GC/MS (R=0.055%). β-caryophyllene (45%), β-pinene(11%), Germacrene-D (10%), α-pinene(10%) and sabiene (8%) werw the major component in the essential oils.
