Abstract

Salix aegyptiaca L. belongs to Salicaceae family is distributed in Zagros and Alborz altitude in Iran. It is cultivated vastely because of good odour the flowers. Willow-water are locally used as strengthening and heat stroke treatment.
As part of screening programme on the aromatic plants of Iran, we are going to report the chemical composition of the essential oil from this plant which is named locally “Bid meshk”.
