Abstract

Lonicera caprifolium L. belongs to caprifoliaceae family which is cultivated as ornamental plant in many parts of Iran. Aqueous soloution was used to curing of cough and strengthening of heart in past. Aromatic compounds of the extract from the flowers are applied in perfumery industries.
As part of a screening programme on the aromatic plants of Iran ,we are going to report the chemical composition of the essential oil from this plant which is named locally "Piche aminodoleh".
