Abstract

Heracleum persicum Desf. from Umbelliferae family which is distributed in some parts of north, west-north and west of Iran. The Essential oil from this plant is full of transe-anetole which is applied in food, pharmaceutical and chemical industry. This plant is locally used as caminative, digestive and as flavouring agent in pickles.
As part of a screening programme on the aromatic plants of Iran, we are going to report the chemical composition of the essential oil from this plant which is named locally "Gol-par".
