Abstract

Elaeagnus angustifolia L. belongs to Elaeagnaceae family which is cultivated in arid lands and also has wild growing in many parts of Iran.
Aqueous extract of flowers used for medicinal purposes as tetany and paralysis treatment, improvement of dyspnea and jaundice and curing spsm.
As part of a screening programme on the aromatic plants of Iran ,we are going to report the chemical composition of the essential oil from this plant which is named locally "senjed".
